Works great5
Works just as advertised for the iPhone for those cars that don't have a aux jack and you don't mind running through the stereo. Be careful with other FM transmitter products - they may work with the iPod, but not with iPhone!

Well worth it!4
I bought this unit, and it does EXACTLY what it should. I have a 2001 Toyota that has no "line-in" on the stereo. So with my new iPhone 3G, my options were limited. I plugged this thing in and set the station and it worked immediately. There is a small amount of static between songs, but i've found that ALL of these transmitters do that. When the music is playing the sound quality is very good (better than radio, not as good as CD's) keeping in mind that iTunes sound is far from CD quality. Further, it responds to your changes with the EQ settings, both on the iPhone and on the stereo itself.

I would, however recommend that you "level" your music on your iTunes (if you haven't already) so that all songs will play at the same volume. If you don't there can be some volume "surprises".

For the price, this unit is Fantastic. There are some that will find fault with it i'm sure. But those people aren't usually happy with anything in their lives anyway.

Not meant for iPhone 3G and not worth the $$ a big city2
I had high hopes for this product but I was disappointed when I finally got to use it. It's not meant for the iPhone 3G despite the name of the product and my iPhone complains everytime I plug it in.

I do like that the device can be powered by the iPhone itself. But it ships with a car charger but the charger is useless with the iPhone 3G since the device isn't meant to work with the iPhone 3G.

Also, I live in the Washington, DC area and while other people have claimed this transmitter is strong enough to overpower weak FM signals, I have found this NOT to be the case. If you live in a big city or live in a place with really high FM density, this won't work well.

I had great luck in the past with my iPod and the Kensington RDS FM Transmitter/Auto Charger for iPod (Black). It was very powerful and is great for iPods but it doesn't work with the iPhone 3g either. So far I haven't found a good FM transmitter for the iPhone 3G.
